Balatonboglár

Vine was brought by the Celts to the region of County Somogy. Cultivation of vine in the provinces was forbidden by the Romans up to the 3rt Century, but after that it became a traditional branch of activity. After the Phylloxera, Balatonboglar became the new centre of renwed vine cultivation and wine production in the 20th Century.
